Our Story

Built by a dad, for his own family

Not a startup. Not a committee. Just a parent with a real problem to solve.

I'm a dad of 3 kids with very different ages — a young adult, a teenager, and a child. For years, I managed pocket money on a shaky spreadsheet, with arguments every month-end and zero motivation.

One day, I decided to code my own solution. A tool that makes the rules transparent, motivates through gamification, and adapts to each child's age — from the youngest to the young adult.

Moonee$moonee is the app I use every day with my family. Every feature comes from a real need. The AI that rates rooms? That was so the little one would stop saying “that's not fair.” Screen time tracking? To get the teen off TikTok. If it works for us, it'll work for you too.

Yes, and no credit card required! The Discovery plan is free forever with up to 2 children, AI coach (3/day), and room analysis (1/day). The Family plan at €4.99/month adds AI screen time tracking and more analyses. The Pro plan at €9.99/month unlocks up to 5 children and near-unlimited AI (50 coaches, 10 room analyses, 10 screen analyses per day).

Is my data secure? ▼

Absolutely. We use Firebase (Google infrastructure) for storage. Each family's data is isolated and protected. Individual PIN codes per member, no data shared with third parties.

How does AI room analysis work? ▼

Your child uploads 4 photos: 1 before tidying and 3 after (from 3 different angles). The AI compares the photos and assigns a score from 1 to 10 with an encouraging comment adapted to their age (gentle for kids, cool for teens, mature for young adults). Parents can accept or dismiss the suggestion. Up to 5 analyses per day.

How does screen time tracking work? ▼

Parents log 3 categories each day: Junk (TikTok, games), Entertainment (YouTube, Netflix), and Educational (Duolingo, homework). The system automatically calculates bonuses and penalties. Under 30 min of junk = +€1, over 3 hours = -€1. A €2 bonus rewards a sober week (average < 45 min/day). AI can also analyze a Screen Time screenshot to fill in data automatically.

Each child adopts a virtual companion from 12 choices. The companion earns XP based on daily efforts (room, behavior, helping out, screen time). Daily and weekly quests, 13 unlockable badges, and streaks add extra motivation. The companion has 5 different moods that reflect the week's efforts.

What devices does the app work on? ▼

All of them! It's a responsive web app accessible from any browser: smartphone, tablet, or computer. Kids can take photos directly with the camera or choose from their gallery. Native iOS and Android apps are coming in Q2 2026.

Can I customize the rules? ▼

Everything is customizable: monthly amounts per child, room penalties, perfect week bonuses, pet care bonuses, screen time thresholds, suspension limits... You define the rules that work for your family through a digital family pact.

Does it work with teens or young adults? ▼
